John Day River Rattle Snakes

The next time your out On the Eastern side of Oregon keep a watchful eye for the venom's Rattle snake. Small or large the punch is the same, you will need to find your way to the emergency room. We have found rattlers as far West as Hood River, all the way East to the Idaho boarder. More than likely these critters will let you know that they are there before they strike, but its a good idea to carry a snake bite kit when your out in the brush. Also wear proper foot gear and always keep your eyes and ears open for that famous villain the Rattle Snake!
Another word of caution is that the Bull snake has the exact markings and will also mimic the tail movement of the Rattle Snake. It is possible for a Rattle snake to lose its rattle in some type of incident, and at that point look just like a Bull Snake! Use caution when handling any snake you find!
