Dungeness crab Nehalem bay Oregon

Ready net go! Yes crabbing is good on the Oregon coast right now. In just under two hours we caught 14 monster crab. All of them not even on the measuring device. Now thru the end of December will be great crabbing.

If you are looking for a great day with the family head down to the Oregon coast this weekend. You can try your luck off the dock or rent a boat from one of the many public maria operations.

Most ring rentals are around $10.00 if your just going off a public dock. Beware some marina operations charge $10.00 per ring per person just to crab off there docks. That $40.00 for a family of four per ring?? Not so fun right. Find a public dock like in Garibaldi out by the Coast Guard Station.

If your looking for a little more adventure and fun rent a boat. Most places charge around $75.00 for two hours and they include three rings, and bait. Cooking is usually an extra charge.

The latter in the year it gets the more meat the crab will have (hard shell) right now they are still not full (soft shell). Although in September crab are soft shell its still a great time because the weather is nice and for the most part dry. Rain or shine its still a great time, hope to see you down there.
